The experienced team behind Champs of the Bay simply love swimming and organising events like this for the community to enjoy. As swimmers ourselves, we thrive on encouraging as many of you as possible to come along and try open water swimming in beautiful settings like this one at Rottnest Island. Since 2019, we have had great fun hosting this kids event and last year's event was the biggest and best one so far with a record number of entries.
For 2026, we have lots of fun and festivities again planned for all of our young Champs. Come along and join in the fun!
Rottnest Channel Swim Association
Sportzcorp is excited to be hosting this unique event just for kids on the same weekend as the 2026 South 32 Rottnest Channel Swim. Champs of the Bay 2026 is grateful for the in-kind support received from the Rottnest Channel Swim Association which actively encourages participation in swimming at all levels through different generations of swimmers.
We hope the event may go some way towards developing the next generation of "channel swimmers".

Our team's experience comes from many years of being involved with iconic community-focused swims such as WA's premier community swim enjoyed by over 1,300 swimmers every year, the Coogee Jetty to Jetty Swim, and WA's best and most popular 10km qualifier event, the Christmas 10K Swim.

for Swimmers - Rottnest Express & RIA
We are thrilled that Rottnest Express will again support Champs of the Bay 2026 as major event partner and exclusive ferry operator for this event.

Rottnest Island Authority is also generously sponsoring the event through a waiver of landing fees for all swimmers.

This means that ALL SWIMMERS will be guaranteed a FREE return ferry ticket (for dates of travel Fri 20th - Mon 23rd inclusive).
A FREE ticket will be booked for your swimmers** and emailed to you after confirming your online entry and prefered ferry travel times.
The designated Champs of the Bay event ferry service from B-Shed Fremantle (Sunday 7:30am) is very popular and will likely sell out so we encourage you to enter your young Champs into the event and secure your ferry tickets NOW !!

We acknowledge the Whadjuk Noongar people as the original Custodians of Wadjemup / Rottnest Island, their continued connection to the island and its waters, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
We pay special respect to all Aboriginal people affected by the historical use of Wadjemup as a place of unjust incarceration, especially the men and boys whose bodies still rest beneath the sands of Wadjemup, and to the families and descendants who lost them.
